This track, which opens my new EP (out 12/13 on Hell Yeah Recordings) belongs to a small family of tunes, there’s more like this on my album (due in spring). Organic (after Don Cherry’s definition), empty music with a repetitive structure that “is always the same but never the same”, as noted by Andrea Amaducci who designed the cover. While working on this music I accidentally bumped into some genres, mixing elements and solutions from distant musical styles. According to Dj and music expert Fabio De Luca, whom I trust, Round Robin exactly captures the spirit of Balearic music, which is really nice to know. Everything here is played by hand including the percussion tracks, which are long loops. A few mistakes were corrected in post-production, everything else is live including the mermaid sounds, made with an electric guitar and the Ebow. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Marco Gallerani/Hell Yeah for the care and energy in promoting my music.
Questa traccia, che apre il mio EP (fuori il 13/12 su Hell Yeah Recordings), appartiene a una piccola famiglia di brani, sull’album ce ne sono altri. Brani organici, spogli, con una struttura ripetitiva che, come dice gentilmente Andrea Amaducci (che ha disegnato la copertina) “è sempre la stessa ma non è mai la stessa”. Mentre lavoravo a questa musica sono “incappato” in alcuni generi musicali, mescolando soluzioni distanti. In questo caso, mi dice Fabio De Luca (di cui mi fido assai) “certe cose che registri (case in point: Round Robin e Bolero) colpiscono esattamente lo specifico balearico“. Qui tutto è suonato a mano, qualche inesattezza è stata aggiustata in post-produzione, le percussioni sono lunghi loop ma l’idea è musica organica (Organic Music, secondo la dicitura di Don Cherry). Le sirene che risuonano nella parte vuota del giro sono una chitarra suonata con l’Ebow. Vorrei anche cogliere l’occasione per ringraziare Marco Gallerani/Hell Yeah per la cura e l’energia impiegata a promuovere la mia musica.
