ON_MARS

This is my first (structured and completed) attempt at making videos. It's a 5 part series made in 2005 using the Mars rovers' panoramic images, thanks to Nasa/Jet Propulsion Lab. These huge hi-res photo mosaics contain details that explain "life on Mars" much more than a thousand words. The videos are an attempt to show these details in relation to the landscape, also to discover that, after all, the martian landscape is truly beautiful in an oddly familiar way. The project is signed Animo Zegels, the name I use when I make visual/graphic things. The music is also mine: various pieces I made in 2004/5, plus one especially made for On_Mars. A DVD version for public performance or broadcasting is available upon request.
